LumiLabel ("the App") is an ingredient safety scanner that helps you understand the ingredients in personal care and beauty products. This policy explains what information the App accesses, how it's used, and what is (and isn't) shared with anyone else.
LumiLabel does not require an account and does not collect personal information such as your name, email address, or location.
When you scan a product label, the photo you take or select is sent securely to our server, which forwards it to OpenAI's API to read the ingredient list from the image. Our server passes the image through and does not store it, log it, or associate it with you.
OpenAI retains API inputs for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring before deleting them, and does not use them to train its models. OpenAI processes the image in accordance with its own privacy policy.
Your scan history, saved products, and preferences are stored locally on your device using on-device storage. This data is not transmitted to or accessible by LumiLabel, and is removed if you uninstall the App.
LumiLabel is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
